David Murphy is the CEO and co-founder of ERINN Innovation and has over 25 years of experience working at the interface of research, innovation, policy and industry. He is recognised for his expertise in European funding, knowledge transfer, research impact and science communication, helping organisations transform research and innovation into tangible societal, environmental and economic outcomes.
As founder of ERINN Innovation, David has shaped the company’s strategic vision and development as a leading provider of knowledge transfer, stakeholder engagement and innovation support services. His work focuses on connecting researchers, policymakers, industry and society to accelerate the uptake of knowledge, strengthen innovation ecosystems and maximise the value of research and innovation investments.
David has extensive experience in funding procurement, proposal development, consortium building and project management, having supported and managed more than 70 European-funded projects throughout his career. Prior to establishing ERINN Innovation, he served as General Manager of AquaTT, where he led organisational growth and the delivery of major European research and innovation initiatives. Today, he leads ERINN Innovation’s multidisciplinary team, supporting organisations across Europe to secure funding, build partnerships and create lasting impact.
