The AquaPLAN project, funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme, aims to quantify the combined impacts of light and noise pollution (LNP) on aquatic biodiversity across European marine, freshwater, and estuarine ecosystems. Using innovative, cross-disciplinary methods to address critical knowledge gaps, AquaPLAN is developing effective strategies to manage these pollutants, enhancing our understanding and ability to mitigate their effects on these aquatic habitats.
Leading Work Package 6, ERINN Innovation ensures effective external communication, dissemination, exploitation, and outreach of AquaPLAN’s activities and results. By engaging relevant target groups, ERINN maximises the project’s impact, increasing its visibility and ensuring that outputs are transferred to a wide audience of end-users. Through these efforts, AquaPLAN is aiming to prevent and reduce LNP impacts, fostering healthier aquatic ecosystems across Europe and beyond. ERINN plays a key role in driving AquaPLAN’s impact by promoting awareness, supporting the adoption of its findings in policy and practice, and ensuring the project’s results create lasting change.
