Delivering soil improvers from circular food production processes for boosting soil health
Five Living Labs and Lighthouses across 10 partner countries
The DeliSoil project, funded by the European Union through Horizon Europe, is transforming food industry by‑products into safe, sustainable soil improvers. Rather than letting nutrient-rich side-streams go to waste, DeliSoil works with partners from the vegetable, meat, insect, olive-oil, wine, and other food sectors to recover and recycle organic matter. The project advances the EU’s Soil Deal for Europe mission and fostering sustainable, resilient agricultural systems.
The project runs five regional Living Labs, bringing together farmers, researchers, industry, and citizens to co-create tailored soil solutions in real-world contexts. DeliSoil also identifies barriers to implementation and develops strategies to overcome them, while evaluating soil improvers for agronomic benefits, environmental safety, and long-term sustainability.
ERINN Innovation ensures that DeliSoil achieves maximum transformative impact. We implement the plan for dissemination, communication, outreach and exploitation on an ongoing basis, engaging all relevant stakeholders, analysing key exploitable results, and transferring outcomes strategically while safeguarding intellectual property. By working closely across all project activities, ERINN Innovation ensures multi-actor involvement and that DeliSoil’s results reach the right audiences to drive real-world adoption and impact.
